Instead of Said...Synonyms

English Go Back

We have all been there when teaching speech and reading SAID over and over again! So as children become more confident in using direct speech, it's important to encourage children to think about their characters' feelings and thoughts by using synonyms for said.

This easy-to-use resource is a great way to encourage children to think beyond said with a range of synomyns perfect for KS1 or lower KS2 level.

This poster can be used on an English display as a constant reminder, stuck inside English books for more independent use or placed inside table pots or drawers; it is adaptable to your childrens needs.
